Enjoying Messianic Blessings: 5 Things God Has Done for us in Christ

What are the things God has done for us in Christ? Some believers are still not walking in the reality of the finished works of Jesus Christ. While we claim to be believers, we still suffer a whole lot because of a lack of knowledge. As the scripture says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.”

Having a clear understanding of what God has done for us in Christ presents us with a new world of possibilities. This post will show five things God has done for us in Christ.

Five Things God Has Done for us in Christ

God has done so much for us in Christ, count your blessings and you will see

According to John 3:16, one of the most popular Bible verses, God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us. Through Jesus’ birth, death, resurrection, and ascension, every Christian should enjoy certain blessings. What are these things God has done for us in Christ?

Equal access into God’s presence

In the Old Testament, the Jews couldn’t waltz into the Holy of Holies the way we visit church today. Only designated priests could enter this part of the temple at specific times of the year. As Jesus took His last breath on the cross, the veil separating the Holy of Holies from the outer court was torn in two from top to bottom.

This singular occurrence was very significant in the Christian faith. It signified that every believer now had equal access to God’s presence. We no longer needed a priest to act as an intermediary; we could call on God by ourselves and visit His throne room as many times as we wanted.

Redemption from the curse of the law

By the standards of the Mosaic law, no man can be holy. It was too difficult to maintain righteousness and so man needed the blood of animals to cover his sins.

Jesus Christ came to redeem us from the curse of the law. Through His finished works on the cross, we can boldly quote Romans 8:1-2. We are no longer condemned. Our lives and those of future generations have been bought with a price to deliver us completely from eternal damnation.

Translated us from the kingdom of darkness to His Kingdom

Once upon a time, man was held bound in the kingdom of darkness. It had become our verdict since Adam fell in the Garden of Eden. As such, man was hidden in obscurity, void of direction, and covered in shame.

The arrival of the Messiah meant a complete turnaround for everyone that believed. By His death and resurrection, we’ve been translated and relocated into God’s Kingdom from the kingdom of darkness. Now, the light of God beams over our lives. We can see clearly, there’s revelation, and our gifts have become more attractive.

Sons, no longer slaves

Because of the fall in the Garden of Eden, man lost his status and became a slave to sin. We were doomed and all hope was lost. Man was in need of a savior to turn the tide.

Then came Jesus Christ and He changed our position. John 1:12 says that once we believe in Him, we have the power, and earn the right to call ourselves God’s sons. Romans 8:17 says we have become “co-heirs with Christ.” It is an amazing feeling because we can share in the glory of Jesus Christ the moment we believe in Him.

Boundless blessings

Our relationship with God goes to another level because of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 1:3 tells us that God has blessed every Christian with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly realm in Christ.

Do you understand what “all” means? It refers to every kind of blessing that has existed, currently exist, or will ever exist. As a Christian, you have access to more blessings than you can imagine. All you need to do is believe that you have it and lay hold on it. Through Jesus Christ, we have access to boundless blessings.

Conclusion

We could go on and on looking at a list of the things God has done for us in Christ forever. The blessings are immense and unbelievable. However, to access and enjoy these blessings, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and believe that God has done these things. This is a good time to rededicate your life to God and reaffirm your faith in Him. Visit our blog to read other articles about the Messiah.
