Nightbirde’s Performance on AGT

Jane walked into the auditions like every other contestant. However, something stood out about her, maybe her smile or bright eyes. Immediately she picked up the mic to speak to the judges, she lit up the room, and everyone connected almost immediately.

She performed an original song titled “It’s Okay” that told her life story. Nightbirde had one message, everything didn’t need to be okay for you to smile and have hope. The singer disclosed that she was battling cancer and had a two-percent chance of survival.

Her astounding performance drew the most fantastic emotion from the crowd, judges, crew, and everyone else watching globally. The highlight of her performance was Simon Cowell hitting the Golden Buzzer to move her into the live shows. We all know how difficult it is to impress Simon, don’t we?

The Impact of Her Performance

Nightbirde’s performance on AGT is still one of the most-viewed of all time. It trended on all social media platforms gathering over 40 million views on YouTube alone.

According to Jane Marczewski, “It’s important that everybody knows I’m so much more than the bad things that have happened to me.” She added that “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.” Her message reached the ends of the earth, uplifting lives and giving people a reason to trust in God again.

Even though she had to withdraw from the show some weeks after declining health, she left an indelible mark on the world. Her life was a message that would never be forgotten. Nightbirde said in an Instagram post that she continued trusting in God despite all she went through.

In her words,

I spend a lot of time squeezing my eyes shut and trying to remember what I believe. Counting my breaths in the grief cloud; burying my face into God’s t-shirt. I remind Him sometimes, (and not kindly) that I believed Him when He told me the story He wrote for me is good, and that He never stops thinking of me. I must be a fool in love, because even from under all this debris, I still believe Him. And when I’m too angry to ask Him to sit on my bed until I fall asleep, He still stays.
