Rotimi Kehinde also shared the story of Zacchaeus, the tax collector from Luke 19: 1-10. The Kingdom of God is a place to belong for everyone. He emphasized that we are designed to connect with others and be a part of God’s family. He shared three lessons that can empower Christians to have a powerful walk with God. The three lessons are mentioned below:

Rotimi Kehinde

  • The first is to ‘seat,’ which means resting in the finished work of Jesus. Christ paid the price for our salvation. You cannot pay for it.
  • The next is to ‘walk,’ which implies being led by the Holy Spirit.
  • The third thing is to ‘stand’ against the enemy.

He continued, “When you practice these three things, you will truly belong to God’s family.” He highlighted the Church as a crucial place for believers to belong.

Rotimi Kehinde touched on Church hurts, explaining that we will be hurt in Church at some point, but it just means that the Church is a gathering of imperfect people. We must remain connected to our Church family because the Church is crucial to our growth as believers.

Rotimi Kehinde then pointed out that if we do not understand the purpose of a thing, we will abuse it. Therefore, if we do not understand the purpose of the Church, it is just natural that we abuse it. The Church is a place to belong, a place to grow, and a place where we can worship Jesus together. We must understand these so that we do not come to Church for the wrong reasons.
